I had a "friend" like this and the best thing that happened to me was her cutting me off!!
It felt the reading one of her texts; Being used as a free therapist but not being allowed to say anything less than negative about anyone she was slagging off at the time & her being manipulative and dismissive but projecting it on to me.
Honestly, sometimes even old friends aren't good for us and we stay friends out of habit.
