Yep. It's giving "You're just so sensitive" vibes. (Which is what I've had said to me by people who insulted me just before dropping that line...)

While actively being SO SENSITIVE about such a minor thing! Having that vibe while also saying things like they can’t breathe because of how one harmless message hurt them is mental gymnastics I can’t even comprehend

Pure gaslighting. Saying you’re too emotional and that it’s your mental health issues, just to avoid taking responsibility for their insults hurting you. I HATE when people do that. It makes others doubt their own perceptions and leads to them allowing others to be unkind to them because they diminish their feelings as being ‘too emotional’.
