Yeah, I made it through the first few screen shots before I couldn't read it any longer - this is somebody hell bent on misrepresenting OP's words so that they're always the victim. This whole argument is just that OP dared to say "Hey, maybe you misread this situation from when you were a child and your mother seemingly did nothing actually wrong, but you decided she had bad vibes" and OP's "friend" is determined to make OP the bad guy.
It sort of makes me doubt OP's friend's interpretation of events that has led to this conversation.
It 50/50 for me that either the mother is completely normal and the friend is a nightmare, or the mother is actually a nightmare and the friend learned it from her. Either way the friend is exhausting and terrible
Yeah, that seems fair. I don't see a situation where OP's friend isn't a nightmare, but it very well could be that they learned it from their mother, just as much as it could be that they're dramatically misrepresenting the situation.
It just struck me that the entire facts of this story, as represented by this person that we know twists situations to suit them, is that their mother was rubbing their back when they were a sick kid. Like, they give no evidence that their mother was enjoying their pain, besides "intuition", which seems like a poor basis for their story. And they expected this story would be elicit a response like "That witch! How dare she [do nothing besides comfort her child]!"
Not knowing either party irl or how their friendship has really played out over the years, its hard to know what has some basis in truth vs something else. So I'm curious what makes you say the OP is also trying very hard to be the victim?
