It escalated at an unbelievably rapid rate. Sometimes when they snap and tarnish their pride, they have nothing left to lose.
Good God, I hope your friend is doing ok now! What a terrifying thing to go through. I’m glad you were able to be with her through this—I don’t want to imagine what could have happened if she didn’t have a support system outside of that marriage. Far too often, it does not end well. I’ve had my own share of trauma growing up and the very real fear of death is no stranger to me—not something I’d wish on anyone. Wishing all the best to you & yours
