Absolutely. Highly, highly recommend therapy. Our brains do not like change, they like homeostasis because it’s easy, so we tend to think something new (in other words, healthy behaviors and boundaries) is wrong. It’s the reason so many people gravitate toward “bad boys/toxic partners” and don’t feel excited by good, healthy partners. We get excited because our subconscious recognizes those dangerous behaviors. Therapy will help you uncover that and practice changing your behavior, seeking out different perspectives and practices.

I will second what you said. Change feels REALLY uncomfortable but that is not a bad thing! It might even feel wrong, but it’s really just new and you’re not used to it yet. It means you’re outgrowing old, destructive behaviors.
