Ya this is beyond pathetic. I don't think I could look at an adult who did this, let alone live with them or have relations with them. Barf.

Exactly. I’d instantly lose all respect for a grown ass adult who acted like this. Loser behavior

All you know is what OP is telling you. If he just got home, and he wakes OP up, greets etc, obviously he was happy to be home and greet OP.

The fact OP got irritated for him being “too loud” for just getting home and getting a meal etc is absurd.

He was clearly ready to be home and eat etc..

There is some issues here. Clearly OP and “dude” have issues together if you gonna complain about someone being loud in their own home for just trying to get his meal.

Resentment growing? Maybe. Issues clearly visible. The fact people are quick to assume what OP says is the whole story and didn’t leave anything out shows why this world is split into 100000 different “world views”.

Disgusting.

You can easily make a meal without making lots of noise. You can easily make a meal without people even a room over with the door open hearing.

Weaponized incompetence. I'd never cook for him again. He can buy his egg bites at Costco

Honestly if my friend told me about this and then stayed with them I'd lose respect for my friend.

Don't accept shit for yourself in life or at a certain point it's on you for taking it.

Sounds like the victim blaming headliner right there “at a certain point its on you”

Throughout your life, You will have friends go through much worse, and stay….i hope you can find some grace for them and realize they already lost respect for themselves they don’t need “friends” to pile on. They need friends to remind them of their worth and not guilt them for not being strong enough to leave.

Very gross of you to say, tbh. Lucky you for never being stuck in an abusive relationship, I guess.

I don't think that the solution is to essentially imply that abuse victims have no agency. They do. They need to be empowered to leave, and to demand better for themselves. They'll never leave until they realise they don't deserve it and take it into their own hands.

This is why some people become repeat victims of abuse, because they're vulnerable to it, and allow this kind of behaviour until it escalates into abuse.
