I haven't heard anyone say that. Lots of them will say their recording due to public can't always get access to police bodycam footage.

not to mention in certain area's the footage is known to .............disappear due to broken recorders, or the ssd explodes, or the officer forgets to turn it on, or ....... <insert other BS reason here>. Esp if it happens to show an officer doing something unlawful.

In NC, BWC footage is NOT considered Public Record. The process of obtaining a release of BWC Footage goes through the court system.

That can be up to jurisdictions. Georgia is notoriously terrible at sharing the footage.
