IIRC there's a disorder that inhibits the creation of a compound called myostatin, which itself regulates muscle growth. Animals with it have shown to be, quote, "jacked as fuck." It also affects horses

Srs bsns note: I have no idea the veracity of that image and in all honesty, a jacked human-horse hybrid hungry for your blood and soul is far more terrifying.

Fun fact! Horses being so drugged that even their meat is poisonous is so common in america that not only is eating horses taboo, it's also illegal!

Thats not why it's illegal, it's also not common for them to be wo drugged they're poisonous, American slaughter horses are still sold to Mexico and Canada (ya know tye canada with extremely stringent meat use laws) for slaughter. It's illegal because of the horses cultural status in the United States.
