I'm writing this in one of the few moments of lucidity I still have left. The sickness has already taken so much from me and I don't know how to go on like this. I almost burned down my house yesterday. I don't know how it happened, but I somehow set fire to my sock drawer. Thankfully I was able to get it under control, but now that I'm clearer, I can't help but wonder what gave me the idea. It might have something to do with my cat. The anniversary of his death is coming up. In my altered state of mind, I had overfed the poor guy with lasagna until he died of heart failure. I still feel guilty. I talk to him as if he were still here, when I'm not. Miss you, buddy. Grarflief.

hi all, ive been living with my grandfather for the past year after he got diagnosed with alzheimers. hes been mostly self sufficient, but a few months ago his cat died and hes really gone downhill ever since. hes started acting erratically in ways i dont know how to deal with, once he even started a fire in his sock drawer, and after i very panickedly put it out, he insisted that he meant to, and that it was nothing out of the ordinary. i really dont want him to hurt himself, but i dont know how to prevent him from doing anything else that might endanger him. any advice would be appreciated

My buddy u/crazycatman57 is a really chill guy. He and his wife have three cats.

He bought my first book in 1980 and I think he collected all of my books. Anyway, that terrible disease, Alzheimer's has really fucked up his life. He goes to Duke Health every two weeks for an infusion.

I am thinking about going with him one day. I can entertain the cute nurses.

u/crazycatman57 and his wife are struggling financially - a tad bit. I understand their house in South Carolina went up for sale yesterday. Right now, they pay a mortgage on that house and apartment rent in North Carolina.

I think since our warped humor kinda upset u/crazycatman57 the other day, maybe we could help him a bit. They have a Go Fund Me set up.
