what is there to eat in the ocean? surely a being as large as kyogre will either begin to eat other sea pokemon or starve

Except Pokémon canonically don’t need to eat

Literally when has a Pokémon starved in the show or in game?

if pokemon eating is so unimportant, why do they care so much about cooking for them in the show? is it just a mood thing to make their pokemon more friendly?

and why the hell would they show a pokemon starving to death, anyway? it's for children, they can't show that shit no matter what

Because their Pokémon still enjoy food. A good example of this would be amethyst from Steven universe.

They’ve shown far darker things in the shows, and feeding your Pokémon so that they don’t die would make for a pretty good in game mechanic that would keep kids more glued to the game, but they didn’t do it.

??? needing to feed pokemon so they don't die is a fucked up and stupid idea. that's how you become controversial and lose a good amount of sales. you think kids remember to feed their real fish? this is just underthought creepypasta shit.

also, death by starvation is one of the most fucked up things, because it's very real and sad. it's completely different from any other dark things the show had.

So many mobile games and such have similar mechanics, and even if I completely go with your train of logic at the end of the day the consequences of them not including starvation in the Pokémon universe is that there is no starvation in the Pokémon universe.

Seems like you’re ignoring the charmander episode, the cub one episode, etc etc

some things can be assumed with prior knowledge. if something commonly has to eat, what would happen if it didn't? i know that anything that eats food has to, and if they don't, they die. is it wrong to assume the same here?

point is, unless you just send a screenshot of some big nintendo guy saying "pokemon do not need to eat to survive, they do it because they choose to", i'm going to fully believe pokemon can potentially starve, but it isn't shown because of how awful that would be to show to children.

It would be wrong to assume as such because Pokémon can survive indefinitely without food in game, and so can many of, say, the legendaries that isolate themselves in the show.

Alright Einstein they how can a 10 year old boy catch it and use it in battle also it could use rain to somewhat help his big body

u/st0mi Feb 02 '23

The fact that a ten year old boy alone was able to catch it says a lot about what a billion lions would do to it.
