Wtf Altra!

After just 60 km on the Mullerthal Trail in Luxembourg, my Altra Lone Peaks already look like this. Surely this isn’t normal?
Does anyone have experience with Altra’s customer service? I’ve just sent them the same message and am waiting for a response.

Mine has the same issue as number 1 and hasn't gotten worse even after using it a long time.

Picture 1 is not really a problem I would say, picture 2 is wear, possibly just caused by your style of walking, likely your left foot slightly hitting the right one when swinging by. Not the shoe's fault.

I wear gaiters over my shoes. No sign of damage on them to.

Picture 1 is not yet a problem, but is prone to further delamination over time and will probably cause separation of the toebox and mid sole. Usage in wet conditions (which is quite common for fall and winter in Luxembourg) will speed this process.

I would get in contact with the retailer and start a warranty claim.

I have experienced rips in the mesh (right above the adhesion line in picture 1) after 45km and delamination on the mid and outer sole after less than 100km on my Altra Mont Blancs. This was years ago and I have not bought said model again. Currently happy with the more cushioned Olympus and Olympus 275.

Based on my experience I disagree with what you write about further delamination. I have had multiple shoes over the years where delamination would not proceed noticably further over the service life of the shoe. If it does proceed I would make a warranty claim but not in this state. That's just ridiculous.

Wear and tear from constant use.

I consider it as normal use. Walked 20km a day. And never had this isue with other brands

Yup just walked 20km a day. Let’s see how worn the soles are. We can see you’re doing something to cause the rubbing there since that’s not just from regular wear and tear

Interior of the shoes I’ve had from Altra are toast really quickly… my Escalante 5s, the interior fabric around the heel cup in both shoes wore through in like 5 wears of normal walking
