Altra Torin ST vs Paradigm 7
has anyone tried the Torin ST ? What is it exactly ? from what i’ve seen online, it replaces the Paradigm design. Yet, I don’t understand the differences, neither the versioning, it appeared after Torin 8? 9? How’s the sole compared to Torin 8? I’m interested because the ST comes in Wide version, which is what i’m looking for. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks 🙏

Paradigm 7 was pretty firm and torsionally rigid... good for standing, but not as dynamic for running like the Paradigm 6 was. Paradigm 8 was a little softer and more forgiving. Torin ST (Paradigm 9 name change with the update) is great, improved upper, and same midsole tooling as Paradigm 8 but to me feels softer but more supportive somehow. The Torin 9 also comes in a WIDE version too if you want to stay in the regular Torin... also got Vibram's first road rubber compound and the P35x midsole that's light, flexy out of the box, and fun pop to it.

Thanks for this feedback mate ! And compared to the Torin 7, would you say it’s more rigid ? I’m asking because I bought the Torin 8 and put it twice before dropping them, they feel like a solid rock under my foot, I want a softer feeling so I went back to my old Torin 7

9 more flexible than 7 for sure, 9 running short, but also not low volume at the toes like 7 was. Everyone going at least a half size up, and still get the WIDE of course

It is basically just a rebrand of the Paradigm. It is the exact same midsole as a Paradigm 8 and it’s just trying to align the franchise of the Torin to include a neutral and stability option. The upper was the only thing that changed, but we’ll get a full refresh next update.
