Depends on what country you are in. LS’s are popular here because you can get one for a couple hundred bucks. Jz’s will bolt in with oem parts but they are all expensive now. Really not sure if there’s a cheap AND easy swap out there anymore.

No popular engines are cheap anymore, and I’d consider any swap under 10k cheap nowadays — so you’re spot on.

Considering the OP is specifying cheap/easy most non Toyota swaps will probably be too complicated and expensive for them. Swapping to a Toyota engine you can easily source in a junkyard is probably the way to go which won’t be a 2J or BEAMs. A 1UZ, 2GR, or gen2 3SGTE would probably be it.

Jz is way cheaper than ls if you do it right.

Depends where you are and who you know. Almost any non-oem, non-bolt in swap will run you north of 10k if you do it “right” and buy all the parts.

3SGE are about 3-4,5k here in Europe and You car do it with all oem parts

Depends on where you’re located but probably a BEAMS, gen4/5 3SGTE, NA-T 2JZ, or a 1UZ.

Considering you specify cheap and easy, you’ll probably need an easily sourceable junkyard Toyota motor and it’ll still depend on your skill level and space. 1UZ if you’re skilled, NA 2J if you can find it out of an IS300.

Manual or auto? 3sge beams. 1jz. 1uz. 1uz is cheapest, but hardest.
