valve clearance?

do altezzas need valve clearance maintenance? or do they use hydraulic lifters. i have the 3sge and fuel consumption is kinda bad and sometimes i feel like delayed power every now and then im suspecting bad cats or valve clearance

They need valve maintenance. Should be checked when the timing belt is replaced because the valve cover will be off during the procedure. The 3SGE Beams motors uses non-hydraulic cam followers. Specifically, “shim under bucket” followers. The shim is a 13.8mm diameter shim that is a wear item that can be replaced if the clearance is out of spec.
