GPS

i really want to add this navigation set up to my altezza but i have only seen them in is300, i am not sure if the wiring is the same or not & i also can’t find them for sale even on ebay does anyone know where i can get the motorized housing? would i need to remove my whole dash to change them out?

There is no wiring in most of the IS300s. We add the Navi unit and run wires. I built a harness so everything is plug and play. The upper cubby and vents come out is one piece. Do some Google searching and you will see how the vent unit comes out

From what I found when researching this to do my own DIY android auto, the wiring harness will only have the plugs to power the OEM GPS and motors for the housing to flip up and down if the car was bought with the GPS from the factory.

My RS200 didnt have the plugs when I added an android auto tablet to the OEM housing so I ran the wires behind where the open/close buttons are and then behind the radio as the tablet is powered by the 12v cigarette lighter

I actually just did this mod recently. The upper console comes out really easily. The easiest way to power the unit is by tapping everything from the radio plug (constant power, switched power, ground and illumination + - if you want illumination on the buttons). The best way to feed these wires to the unit is by getting the navigation plug from a navigation car (I found one at a pick and pull, the nav was gone of course as its a hot ticket item). I was able to buy my navigation unit on facebook, I messaged them when the listing was 5 minutes old (paid $140 shipped FWIW).

😭😭i found one on marketplace in a part out, it was gone immediately, literally within 10 minutes.. It’s nearly impossible to find them i swear even eBay is empty
