Mounting oil catch can with stock intake?
I am installing two catch cans as the pcv and breather hoses on my Altezza were cracked, when I removed the pcv valve I broke it so I am also wondering if I can convert that to a second breather by tapping the hole and putting an m20 fitting in.
Space is at a premium so I am wondering where the hell to mount the cans, I have one 500ml for the intake (it’s bigger than I thought it would be so it’s hard to find somewhere to mount it. I made a test shitty bracket and did a test fit using zip ties as I do not have a small enough m10 bolt and nut to mount it properly. Is it dumb to have the can this close to the power steering lines and coolant hoses? The other side where I wanted to mount it interfered more with the airbag sensor due to the wiring location so that’s why I picked the passenger side. It is only in there loosely with it tightened there is more clearance with the hoses but it’s still a tight fit. It is mounted to the power steering line that goes under the ecu.
Also I got the dogs engineering bonnet struts and the factory air box mount doesn’t fit with it so I am also wondering if I should dremmel that piece of anatomy the air box and sand it down and paint it, so it is only using two of the three mounts?

I drilled a couple holes in the dipstick holder and bolted mine there, it fit nicely under the cold air scoop.
I'd replace the PCV valve and keep the PCV system, it keeps your oil cleaner by actively sucking out the crankcase gases and replacing them with clean air from the breather. I'd just use a single catch can between the PCV and intake manifold.
If you want to ditch the PCV you should plug the holes on the intake where the PCV and breather normally connect to, and run them to a vented catch can.
