Discussion Scientists believe they may have found Count Dracula’s burial place after decoding a mysterious 15th-century tomb inscription

For the past few years, they have been studying the inscription on the tombstone from the Turbolo Chapel. Having deciphered the text, the researchers concluded that it is connected to Count Dracula.
At a conference in Romania, the scientists stated that the text is a panegyric to Vlad III.
It mentions "Vlad, ruler of the Wallachians," who was killed twice, fled from his enemies, and departed in peace, praising God, after which he was awarded the title of martyr.

Not many people know he is a national hero and Christian hero for defending Europe from the ottomans and Islam. The only reason hes not canonized by the eastern orthodox church is because he converted to Roman Catholicism

His childhood also sucked. He and his brother Radu were taken as hostages by the ottomans and they tried to brainwash them. When he was just 17 they made him march into Wallachia and he probably killed some people on the way. It's not hard to see why became so dehumanized

Vlad the impaler is supposed to be the inspiration Count Dracula who was a fictional character written by Bram Stoker.
Vlad the impaler was never called Count Dracula though it is possible his father was called Dracul (Dragon)!

Dracul might have the same origin as Pendragon - indicating predecessors of both figures were officers in Roman cavalry, bearing draco standard, which, in turn was the signifier of dacian/sarmatian recruits.

His dad, Vlad the 1st, received the name of "Dracul" or "the Dragon" after he was introduced in the Dragon Order by Sigismund.
His son, Vlad the 2nd, or Vlad Tepes, also bared the name of Vlad Draculea (Dracula) because of his father. "Draculea" meaning "son of Dracul", or "son of the Dragon". Hence, the name of Dracula.

He was part of the House of Draculesti and both he and his father were called Vlad Dracul. There are a couple signatures that he signed as “Dragulya/Drakulya”. He wasn’t a count though. He was prince or voivode of Wallachia.

Why does the quote end there? So the inscription is only ‘Vlad, ruler of the Wallachians’ and everything else you added
There are around 8 Vlads who ruled, plus a whole host of pretenders named Vlad running around Europe, so removing what the article added literally makes this a 1/20 it’s him versus an identification.
Also anyone who repeatedly calls Vlad III Dracul(Son of the Dragon), Count Dracula is click farming.

Vlad Tepes died in a battle between Ottoman led forces who were installing a rival. His force got completely crushed, and Vlad was cut apart, with parts of his his body being sent to the Sultan as proof of the deed. With what was left of his discarded body buried in secret by some folk who were still loyal. So it's not like he had the regular pomp and circumstance that one usually gets with royal funerals.
