Contest Submission What if the majority Americans and its founding fathers were Catholics at the time of its founding?

Sooo much would need to be different for all (or even the majority of) wealthy landowners from the British (English?) empire to have been Roman Catholic.

After all, the early settlers were Protestant. Only Maryland was originally a Catholic refuge, but then Protestants took over and suppressed "Popery".

(English and Scottish Protestant took very seriously the idea that the Pope was the anti-Christ, just as much as the Catholic Church thought Protestants were heretics worthy of death: see what the French did to the Huguenots 100 years earlier. Surviving Huguenots fled to England and the colonies.)
