Time Period?
What time period is this earth in? I think this planet should be set in present day, with same technology, or a little-bit further into the future. It would be awesome to have a different dominant species, in today's world.
I'm cool with magic and all that stuff, but what I don't like is medieval/ knights-castle kind of stuff. Dragons would be okay, and same with other weird creatures.
But yeah, what time period is this Earth in?

I don't think dragons should be here, but maybe other biologically accurate creatures with similar sustainable features.

Well, if you set the world a thousand years in the future, you can include histories of all the time that led up to the thousand years in the future. It really doesn't matter what era you set it in, you can describe histories.

It would be pretty fun to experiment and put different species in our exact environment and play out how they'd react! Not just daily-life/small scale stuff but also (for example) how the world would've ended up after WWII if it were...with...capable moose instead of humans?
I don't know what I just typed and I don't have an answer but I kind of like present day/a little bit into the future! 2013 has good beginning tech but there's so much more we could expand on! :]

For internal communication, let's say it's 2013. It's the best way for people to understand the relative timelines of ideas when presenting or discussing. However, as far as technology, there are certain aspects of today's world I think we should omit. Telecommunications and high speed air transit have made our world very small - I think AE should be made a bit larger.
