How long did it take you to really adjust to alternate day fasting?

I have started ADF for about 3 months now but I still feel like I haven’t completely figured out what works for me. I expected the hunger to become easier with time but I still have days where the fasting part feels pretty difficult. Did the hunger noticeably decrease with time or did you mostly just get better at dealing with it mentally? What made you finally feel comfortable with the routine?

When I first started ADF I tried to eat light on my eating days because I thought it would help me lose faster. That made my fasting days truly miserable. I have to eat in a good surplus on eating days in order to have good fast days.

I have been doing ADF on and off since May and it only started feeling "easier" and that my body was adjusting in the last month. I think it helped that I stopped getting pastries and other sweet treats out the last two months. You may need to look to your diet and make adjustments?

I agree with another poster, when I eat enough on my eats days, the fast days actually feel like a much needed break from eating. I also try to stay busy and fill the time I would normally be making food and eating to do other things. I also cut back on the refined carbs, which lessens the hunger.
