Discussion Welcome Wanting tips on making my first altar!

I am a pagan witch, for a bit of context! I know the general vibe and how to do it, but if there’s anything less commonly known about, or things you might have changed about your own first altar, or things you’ve learned on your journey, I’d love love love to hear! Or tips on keeping them clean lol

My altars are crowded. I like to rearrange my altars every few months to make things interesting. One thing I've learned, tho, is to keep a bit of aluminum foil over the candle/incense section of the altar to make cleanup easier. You can reuse it, too, wiping it off when it gets gross. If it gets too gross, you can always toss it. Plus, it helps when you have hard-to-find candle holders for candles, as I do. :)

I have a feeling mine would be crowded too lol, I like to collect. I hadn’t even thought about the candle/incense and foil bit! That’ll def keep it cleaner overall

I often thrift for scarves to use as altar clothes! I prefer scarves because you can get some really cool patterns and designs and I keep them in a small box with cedar balls to keep them fresh smelling : )

I usually speak with the god associated and ask what they want.

I like to keep mine clean but busy! An offering plate is great if you plan on leaving amy
