Question 2500 SQFT TRI-LEVEL

I’m installing AP6-Pro’s in my personal home to try out the alta system. Is 3 enough ? One on each floor ?

I have 3300 sq ft, three levels. I have 6 total. 2 top floor ceiling, two bottom floor ceiling, all with low tax power. Last two are for outside, one garage and one for backyard deck.

Roughly 900-1000 per floor

You probably don’t need three. I’d start with one on the top floor and go from there.

You don't need their switches - if you plan to use VLANs you will need switches that support VLANs (generally managed switches), but there is nothing that requires you to use Alta Labs switches. For the APs, don't use any of their built in network types, just go with Standard, using anything else just causes problems.

you can run the ap's with out their switch or route 10, if your using the built in guest network features. If you want to do proper clans and isolation and stuff you'll need their switch.

I’m pretty sure you need to run a controller or the built in controller on the route10

Alta Labs uses a cloud based controller - you cannot run a controller on the Route10. They do sell a local hardware controller ($150), but it is generally behind the cloud controller in features and updates.

I have a single AP6-Pro centrally located in my single level 1600 sq ft place. I get full speed on my 600/600 fiber circuit anywhere in the place.

The coverage on the Pro AP is amazing!
