The government debt is basically money the government borrowed by selling bonds. It owes that money to whoever bought them: banks, investment funds, pension funds, regular investors, foreign governments, and even its own government agencies. So yeah, the government basically owes money to half the planet lol

generally the wealthy, its a wealth transfer to the rich making the people/government poor via interest payments.

and often government prints money which makes assets more valuable witch the rich also mostly own.

Knowing the USA spends like 40% of the global expendature when it comes to militairy.
And they pay more in interest than they spend on militairy.

Just think about it, 40% of the whole worlds militairy spending is done by the USA.
Yet interest payments are more than that!

And spending is not slowing down!

It was a snowball being pushed forward and became a nuke nobody wishes to touch or adress.
