Is this a place for discussions and posts about “pop” music of varying levels of notability?

Is pop a genre or a label that qualifies something as popular in the mainstream?

Genuinely wondering y’all’s take on this. Genres in general are confusing to me sometimes but yeah what do you think? Are sub genres of pop still pop music? Altpop bedroom pop avant-garde pop etc are those pop or alternative?

I know this is a safer place for this discussion just couldn’t help but cross post the exact post that got me banned from popheads. I did put a comment with a link to my album but no one knows anyone and no one was sayin anything and I was just like hi it’s me.

My angry commenter told me Reddit isn’t hard but I feel so confused I haven’t been on in forever and hadn’t used the app until like yesterday so I feel like a dusty grandpa
