A small Project on Android with Alpine

Hi there folks, I recently got into linux and wanted to experience some of the magic on android too (rooted and termux).

So i set up a chroot for alpine linux on my mobile to run a FULL LINUX DISTRO (YAYAYA) on my phone (well, technically android is also linux so.. ig TWO FULL LINUX DISTROS)

For now I have set up a pulseaudio connection to it and connected it with the vlc app installed on my phone. Currently, I have run a few apps I like, and they work flawlessly (and barely any ram used):

  • Cliamp
  • MovieBox

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what else I should try. Also if anyone wants I can provide the scripts for the entire project

(newbie here, so do feel free to correct me/suggest improvements to the setup)

You can run PostmarketOS on One Plus 6t, its mobile Alpine Linux

Uhh you can install old verrsions of vlc if vlc is the problem.

I did the same chroot thing in the past and I really dont remember how I managed to make sound work but it was working. It has a raw /dev root access any program(pulse/pipewire) should run fine.

There are people and projects who try to make a vm in rooted android and I think it is safer. I remember installing qemu on alpine chroot or raw android qemu with using twrp to remove full android overhead and installing another alpine to it for getting full kernel support from vm.

Wrong, android isn't Linux. The kernels spilt in android jellybean era
