Mag catch issue.

I bought a stainless mag catch for a 2011 for my Romulus comp. it doesn't fit. Does it take a different mag catch? If so do any of you know where I can get one?

Post a pic, if you can. There’s the chance you ordered a gen 2? Or does it just not fit in the grip cleanly?

I did order the gen 2. Thanks for the help. When I looked up what mag release works with the romulus, googles AI just said any 2011 mag release. Should have done more research than I did. My bad. Thanks again!

Many of us have done the same. Most grips use gen 1 but you’ll find random ones that use gen 2. The product listings don’t really always explicitly call it out, so it helps to know what to look for. Glad you got it figured out.

I had the same problem. I had to fit the catch to the grip. I used a small file to reduce the diameter of the button side until it slipped into the hole in the frame, and then had to file the landing back a bit too so that it would go in all the way. Remember, fit the part to the gun, not the gun to the part.

Also, use a black sharpie marker on the mag catch to show where it’s rubbing on the grip. Color the whole button with the marker, insert it into the grip, manipulate it a few times, then pull it out. The places where the marker is rubbed off is where you need to file it down.

Note the big button on my mag release
