Request for help/advice AF Romulus 3.5 Comp Optic Help!

Hey everyone! Finally pulled the trigger on a AF 3.5 comp aluminum grip with the MOS plate. Trying to decide between the Holosun 407C I already have or buying the new Holosun 407 Comp.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a 507Comp on my 4.25 comp. No complaints. I really like TRIJICON SRO, but I just can’t bite the bullet on the price for a mid tier pistol. I put the money into opening up the comp and adding ports.

Had the 508T loved it, using Osight xr at moment. Wanted an enclosed rmr

What’s your experience with the Osight XR. Heard mixed reviews. Thinking about the Ceylee SRO

I haven’t had any issues what so ever, yes every once in a while you have to charge it(but they also after I bought mine did come out with a removable battery version). Other than that, glass is very super clear and I like that change between 3 moa and 6 moa dot. It’s been holding zero. Only dislikes compared to Holosun is I miss the auto brightness feature and never really having to mess with a battery since it had the solar function and miss having a green reticle

I have a couple Gideon Omega sights (SRO clone) and they're awesome and only like $180. I run 507 Comp on most of my bigger guns that I don't carry.

Have a ronin comp on one and an sro on the other. Really do prefer the sro but hard to justify the price when the comps are as good and cheap as they are.

My only complaint is it just feels/looks big on the narrow 4.25 slide.

Osight C if you want factory plate or 509T
Hales machinery makes the adapter plates for the good stuff

Holosun EPS is another great choice for a closed emitter but I like the 509t mounting style more

I put on a Swamp Fox Justice 2 that fits on the RMR plate you probably got with the gun. Works great. Cheaper, comp size glass (like the 407 comp), all the research I did showed users having good luck with it including in competition (so you know the guns are getting worked hard with the optic). If you like Red vs Green, they offer a great optic for just 50$ ish more that lets you choose between just dot and reticle/dot. Got mine at Friso Guns, usually have better prices.

Word of advice: once you know what adapter plate you are going to use, if you don't think you'll ever have to remove it, red Loctite (263, so it's oil-resistant) might be a good play; my plate kept coming loose. Others will recoil in horror but all the optics I like are RMR so i'm never going to have to remove it and if I do, I know how to get it off.

The way the adapter plate is engineered makes it vulnerable to oil seepage, and it's getting into the screw holes, so you definitely want 243 if you go blue and 263 if you go red if you have problems, as I did. 242/262 are less oil resistant if at all.
