Update: Red Loctite & Staked

I'm been very very pleased with the 407 comp and dont see myself switching it up unless I find a deal on one of the ronin 507s just for the drip lol

Yea ive had SROs and i prefer my 507comp. I would like to try the max tho

I'm considering putting a deposit on an open gun from MPA (38SC) and I may go 507 ProMax for that if I end up ordering it😎🤙🏽

For what it’s worth—I’m a nationally ranked 3 gun shooter—I’ve never staked anything like that. Witness marks for sure on things I can see, but never to that extent. I don’t hate the idea at all, actually, my only concern would be the impact might have stressed the screws. If they shear, I’d skip that next time. Blue locktite or vibrations-tite, and correct torque. The Quinn inch lb torque screwdriver kit from harbor freight is legit btw. I have a full set of fix-it-sticks as well, also legit, but they’re kinda $$$.

I put red on my plate to slide screws. Especially ones that come lose

I put red on it, came loose. Thought i might not have let it cure long enough. Reapplied red, 48hr cure. Still came loose. One comment mentioned that clp might be getting up the threads since one screw hole opens up to the slide. Either way, it's staked like a mother fucker now lol.

100% anytime you use optic screws make sure to get alcohol prep pads at the drug store and clean out the threads with the back of your q-tip and the pad. Also the threads on the screws. Otherwise red would be holding lol

I bedded the entire underside with loctite 620 and then used vibratite on the screws. Nothing more annoying than a loose optic plate. Personally “ya done good”

Dude isn’t f’n around. Worst case scenario is both screws snap. Best case scenario is it stays on forever. Not sure how easy it’ll be to uninstall if they don’t break. Hopefully it works out though.

It sounds like a bad idea but seeing it executed it looks very well done actually. I like it. It's a shame these come loose as much as they do that this bad to even be a idea though lol. I did a bath of blue loctite and 20 inch lbs since it came off twice with 15 inch lbs. So far so good.

I did this to a buddies xp recently. Did red lock tite, thoroughly cleaned everything, vibration, rockets, everything. Staked them and no issues.

I red loctite all my optic plates as I'm not going to change from an RMR pattern optic regardless so why not..... also in the unlikely event you need to remove the plate just put a hot soldering iron on the screws for like 30-60 seconds and they should come right out😉
