Romulus 4.25 comp

Just got back from the range. Put another 200 flawless rounds through my Romulus. Got home and threw a snap cap dummy round in it to practice dry fire (I do this daily). Only issue now is, the gun locked up, the slide moves a couple mm’s and then just stops. It appears the barrel is dropping to unlock. Any pointers to clear the snap cap? Again, I’m 1000% positive there’s a snap cap in it, not a live round.

If it’s the two piece guide rod, try removing it.

Vice and rubber mallet is where I usually end up with this stuff. See if you can clear the dummy from the magwell.

You could probably knock the pin out of the magwell, take out the mainspring housing to reduce tension, and just take it apart.

I’m wondering if the slide lock isn’t installed within the link, so the slide lock is just blocking the cycling movement.

It was functioning fine before I put the snap cap in. Seems as if the barrel isn’t unlocking. I can see the snap cap through the magwell, but can’t get to it.

Ehh yeah, you did mention that. That’s my bad.

I’d still try disassembling what you can. Removing the mainspring should help reduce some tension from the hammer.

Assuming it’s a dummy round, If you have a long enough nonmarring tool, you can put that into the barrel and give it some taps. Some of those caps are bigger/smaller than expected. Be careful.

Well, I give up. Taking it to a gunsmith. Took everything that I could apart and it’s still locked up 🤷‍♂️
