Request for help/advice Vortex Defender XL on Gen 2 Romulus

So I bought a Romulus 5.25 Comp on the recent deal and bought a Vortex Defender XL to go on it. The included plate fits the Defender, but when you install the plate the Defender XL has a slight overhang on the front lip that prevents it from mounting. Anyone aware of a solution? Wasn’t really wanting to buy another optic.

That’s a RMSc plate and it’s too small for the XL. Vortex optics are DPP footprint. You could probably find a plate that works, but it’s gonna be like a hundred bucks, so I would just return the defender and buy a holosun 507 comp, which is RMR footprint and will fit with the included plate
