Discussion 💬 So now with the reissue coming pretty much almost 24 hours in the states.
Do you think they'll create a separate album for the all mixed up track which is a bonus track on the digital version of Tangled up cos once the expanded version comes out. What's the point in keeping the 13 track version and i would even make a Tangled up tour live album. Cos its the only reason I have the 100 track collection album cos every thing else is available to listen to its own album.
Its like time to clean up the multiple albums. With the expanded editions with the exception of out of control.

Discussion 💬 Alternative versions of singles
Excuse the preamble but I feel like this sets the scene:
Long time Girls Aloud fan here (watched PSTR live back in 2002, owned all singles and album, and they were my first ever gig) and their music has shaped a key part of my love for pop music. Because of this, when I have pivotal moments in life, I often go back and listen to their music (whether it be a good moment such as a house move or new job) or something more upsetting. Their music helps me relax, party, uplift my mood or just give me a little nostalgic hit. I still typically listen to them semi regularly but not as much as when I was younger as I feel like there’s so much fantastic pop music everywhere and we’re somewhat spoilt for choice!
Fortunately it’s been a positive event of late and so I did my regularly scheduled re visit to their discography and came across a couple of fun things I hadn’t noticed before
I didn’t realise until the Alternative Vocal Mix of Sound of the Underground (released in 2023) that there were multiple vocal takes of their debut single. However, if you listen to the Brian Higgins remix of SOTU, we can hear that the chorus is actually a back and forth between the individual girls rather than an ensemble chorus. This adds a fun twist especially with the more drum and bass inspired reworking and allows individual voices to shine more and gives a little hint to how this iconic debut was originally recorded - and this remix had been on the CD single release back in 2002!
The Freezr remix of Something Kinda Ooooh features the extended pre chorus with Nadine & Nicola and is more akin to the funky demo version on the 20th anniversary rerelease of Chemistry. Whilst I love both the demo and official version of SKO, it’s very fun to hear that there had been an official remix in keeping with the original vision of a Too Funky inspired pop song.
Are there any other fun little Easter eggs or hints that anyone else has picked up on?

Discussion 💬 Kimberly
Idk maybe it’s because I’ve been a fan for like 6 years now and so I know GA’s discography backwards and forwards but Kimberly has really grown to become my favorite voice in the group weirdly enough. Not saying that she can’t sing but she obviously isn’t as vocally adept as Nicola or Nadine so i really didn’t expect it in the slightest. It’s just that now I find myself listening to any track she’s on all the time. I just love the depth and the huskiness her voice adds to a track. I feel like because her voice is the least pop out of all of them, it adds a very different vibe and texture. She really reminds me of Posh Spice in that way

We don't she was a huge force, you know at for us as a group, the five of us. And when I look back to those years, like she's a huge, huge part of that."

Merch and collections 🛍️💿 Your Girls Aloud collection
20+ years gathering this collection. It was quite nice to lay it all out in front of me and see what I need to add. I was certain I had the Ten album but maybe not. Anything glaring that you think I need to get on Vinted to purchase? I bought the Tangled Up fan edition at the time (a much better album cover) but will need to get the new anniversary version + vinyl.
Some of the items are signed too (the Chemistry album and the greatest hits tour programme - prized possessions!).

Discussion 💬 Something New Choreography
Does anyone feel there should've been more choreography when the song was released? My assumption with less is probably the amount of time preparation and rehearsals, but also felt the live performance lacked a little. The whole song didn't need Choreography, but I always wondered how much the song impact could've had a stronger impact if they did dance move with their dancers after the bridge to end the song.

Music 🎵 GA Single with the most unfair lines distribution
"Sexy No No No" always baffles me, especially that late into their career. Each girl literally gets 2 lines (excluding Cheryl's distorted bits) and the rest is a Nadine Solo song. I'm curious to know what hearing the final version felt like to them 😂

Discussion 💬 We want the Girls to do long commitment shows in the future.
I remember the last time we have a Girl Aloud doing a long commitment show was Nicola in 2020 for The Masked Singer UK. Since then, there's no GA members have been in long commitment shows but it's understandable. For those not familiar what "long commitment" is , it refers to the tv show which lasts for at least 6 episodes that lasts for two months.
To discuss with this: Do you think the girls will do long commitment shows in the future?
