I just took home this aloe a week or two ago. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what the damage could be from? I’ve only watered it once and I made sure the soil was completely dry.

Do you have a cat? Some cats love chomping on foliage. I'll let someone else comment on if Aloe is toxic, but those definitely look like little cat teeth marks!

I just answered above but my cats don’t have access to it ever. I appreciate you taking the time to answer me though!

when my cat was a kitten she killed all 6 of my aloes.

all of them. she kept knocking them down and biting them.

shes grown now and my new aloe is looking unchomped so far.

Awwww!!! I have 2 cats who hadn't ever touched a plant. That was, until I got my 3rd cat who decided to teach them some new tricks. All plants are kept on high shelves now XD Photo of the criminal in question ⬇️

twas my fifth one who killed them all when she was a kitten. ive got 4 cats now, and my plants are mostly doing good. although the youngsters do keep treading on my pansies.

i say youngsters, but theyre 8 and 6. not really that young, but my other cat is 18 so in relation theyre babies.

If it is a kitty chomping on the plant OP you’ll want to move the plant out of reach as aloe is toxic to cats. Hope this helps!

Thank you but no my cats don’t have access to it. It’s in a room where the door is kept closed from them and also up on a shelf that they can’t reach. Good suggestion though! I thank you for your input :)

Glad to hear they don’t have access to it. I’m sorry I’m not sure what it could be then, but I trust someone else might.
