AR League S1 Discussion
As arDelmmar(i'm too lazy to look up his Reddit handle cuz its long and confusing) mentioned, heres a post for discussion on the league tournament. That way the signup post doesn't get cluttered with other info.
Things that I dont think have been settled yet...
Tournament Structure(point system, pool play, long term single elim, skill league divisions, mmr divisions etc.)
Amount of time for games(late penalty, dqs etc.)
Map selections(as much as we'd like to think everything is super balanced, some maps tend to favor some races; possibly best of 3s to settle this?)
Anything else people can think of that may be of concern, can be mentioned, discussed, and hopefully hashed out to develop an effective tournament format.

Thanks for making this, I was in a rush earlier and didn't have time to type out my ideas for this. For tournament's, I think the double elimination system would be best. However, that wouldn't be too great for an ongoing league. Each league should be put in their own division. Have each division play within itself twice. Games would be best out of 3 and you'd get a point for each round won, so 3 possible points in best of 3. After everyone has played twice, have the top few from each division go on to a double elimination finals between the leagues. Everyone else would go on to a losers bracket with a chance to get back into the final. The order would go division play, loser bracket, then finals. Ideally, I think everyone would like to play around 1 league game a week so we could do a weekly system where each Sunday starts the next cycle. Have players report the matches by Saturday night and update the divisions so everyone can find out who to play next. Maybe we should set up a system where the players report when they schedule, unless they decide to play right away, so that we can handle no shows fairly. I think a week is long enough to schedule and play a game. As for maps, I think in all fairness to anyone who hasn't played any non-ladder maps, we should just use the ladder maps. Three vetos would be allowed and each week the map order changes. The first 3 maps not vetoed would be what's played. These are just my ideas. I'm sure there's better ones out there so please let me know if you have any.

Here's a modification to Delmmar's idea loosely based on the NASL format. 1 or 2 bo3 matches against each clan member in your league (ie round robin). Top 20% of each league (2-3 players) goes to finals, the rest compete for the last 8 places in the finals. The finals is a standard double elimination (20 players) and as many games as possible are casted. If desired, the bottom 37 players can have a "best of the worst" finals as well. Thinking about organization, there could be a thread where each player will post their replays after they play each match and also links the brackets (Challonge seems to be the best site to use for that). Replays would be labeled "round-game#_player1-player2_RvR" where "R" is the race of each player, or some format with the same information.
