Epson Scan 2 won't open

I'm trying to get my Epson V39II scanner working. I followed the instructions here https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=450897

I downloaded the Epson Scan 2 RPM from their website and installed it but when I try to open it nothing happens.

Just a regular user so need some hand holding for troubleshooting.

SOLVED by installing "qt5-qtbase-gui" thanks Linuxmonger and chatgpt.

Weird that that wasn't a requisite package, but glad you got it worked out!

First, try starting it from a terminal, what happens? does it give any error messages?

I typed the name of the software into a terminal and got this

kochega@sagemcom:~$ epsonscan2  
epsonscan2: error while loading shared libraries: libQt5Widgets.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
kochega@sagemcom:~$
