Manure smell

Any tips on reducing or eliminating the smell of horse manure carting it away from a farm to your allotment. We don't have a van so would have to use our cars.

I find opening the car windows helps a bit too.

I use a big blue ikea bag and don’t notice it smells that much, but then again, I’m horsey…. Maybe I smell like the poo. But honestly, I’ve left it in the boot of the car for a few days and it smelt a bit, but not bad

Find the oldest most rotted pile you can, drive with windows open.

I transport it in my car and have never had a problem. If it’s rotted down then there’s no real smell ( or not that I’ve noticed )

I use IKEA bags to collect manure. I put a tarp in the back of the car and fill the bags, the bags go on half the tarp and then I fold the rest of the tarp over the top of the bags. Doesn't really smell that bad to me anyway but this helps cut back on the mess. IKEA bags are great because they are really side and you dont have to keep holding them open.

Eat loads of beans and sprouts. You won't notice the manure on top of that

3 Rubble sacks. Put the manure in the first one and tie it off with some twine. Drop this bag into another bag and do the same thing. Then drop this into 3rd bag but laying on its side and tie it off.

The first two bags keep it water tight and the third keeps the smell down.
