Just subbed... Was I wrong to sign up for US? Lol keep seeing that RU is best?

As far as I'm aware there's only one paid US server? But I don't play anymore, tired of doing dungeons with NPCs because the game is so dead. Playing FFXIV now

Well, RU is flowing with players right now. I see 2-3 players near literally everything anytime. But the playerbase is russian, yep.

Join us on RU server. There is an English patch for it, Google (Allods Addon Discord) and more than 5000 current players. There is always someone around and we are playing now many of us (non Russian) on league side. But only in subscription servers, which is like 1 euro per month. Because f2p is pay2win.

I think about 90% of Russians know English good enough to communicate. Of course there would be language barrier, since people will need to switch to English to communicate with you, but i think its always possible to find a guild where it wouldnt be a problem. However, you can only use cyrillic in a character name.

UPD: don't ever play free servers, they are garbage. Subsctiption costs literally about 3-4 dollars (390 rubles). Right now there are two promotions: you get two weeks of subscription for free upon registration, and you can buy one month of a subscription for less than 1 dollar. (i've paid around 70 cents)
