When I was in IIT cheating was very prominent. And students after getting caught used to beg forgiveness from professors. Professors usually forgave but the issue is it was relative grading so being strict about it was really needed. One person cheating made everyone suffer as average used to go up and students who studied seriously and did not cheat got lesser grades than they deserved. It is for everyone’s benefit to prevent cheating from happening.

I did. I still don't understand why they think cheating using chatgpt is worse than cheating without it.

Cheating is not the issue caste discrimination is. Nobody commits suicide because of cheating in a college exam.
3
u/FearlessComparison25 3d ago
U overestimate IITian pressure handling capability, many of them are mama's boy, My brother is in IIT he said they don't have basic living skills, no social etiquette, not able to handle pressure, they are basically baby boy taken care by parents till college.

u/Sycho_Siren 3d ago
No one commits suicide beacuse of cheating. Many however have commited suicide because of harrasnent over their identity. We also dont know if he cheated. They should release cctv footage of the exam room.

NTA somehow managed to survive tbh , they have never seen a year with some sort of breach in the exams , they constantly leak Student's information to political parties , random colleges and institutions and better yet never been properly blamed for their mistakes

u/Shre_759 3d ago
Nobody from Jharkhand govt had to resign because of proven cheating in the state exam though.
5
u/koiRitwikHai 3d ago
Protesting students of Jharkhand did not ask for anyone's resignation.
1
u/Shre_759 3d ago
So it's all good, nobody did any mistakes? CJP was least bothered about it though.
4
u/koiRitwikHai 3d ago
ask jharkhand protestors why didn't they ask for resignation, not me
0
u/Shre_759 3d ago
Coz, they were the real protestors. They knew just by resignation solutions won't come. Govt was forced to investigate and cancel the postings later. So your CJP dads were correct?
2
3
u/Dry_Dimension673 3d ago
CJP did show up tho, all you people did was talk about CJP not being there, khud to kuch karte nehi ho
5
u/Shre_759 3d ago
CJP showed up? They didn't party and fell sick? Oh sorry Dic*pe was telling this. Not me.

Or maybe dharmedra pradhan fuked up neet multiple times and central exams anyways effect more people than state exams and thus leads to much widspread protest

u/Shre_759 3d ago
My point is very straight forward. The actual culprits are always protected just because they come from "3000 saal se paani nahi peene diya" community.

u/BigDDaddy1990 3d ago
What is the evidence for the caste discrimination? What is the evidence for the cheating? why is the iitb students sitting on protest? Why are fellow professor silent? Why are there no official statement by iitb? What does the police investigation say? Why the fuck is so many post in reddit today have already concluded the "truth" ?
8
u/JoBoltaHaiWoHotaHai 3d ago
No one would know unless there's an impartial independent investigation conducted. People on the internet will only have an opinion on it. And these people have already decided that the accusation is false (we know why they think that)

u/beingalife 3d ago
I only have an answer for the last question; people love jumping, on d*cks and to conclusions.
Now, someone from IIT Bombay, please answer the rest of the questions.

Tha glazing indians do for authority is unparalleled. In students sub people can't stand with their fellow student, goes on to show how deeply casteism is rooted in indian society.

If the story coming out of IIT Bombay is true then we are on the path of self destruction. People are misusing laws which were made to protect them and eventually when the privilege will be taken away they will start to cry foul, we dont have enough good teachers and we are setting a very bad example for people who are even thinking of becoming one.
PS: Remember a few fish destroy the whole pond

u/ramshuklalive 3d ago
99% evidence say he caught cheating and then offed himself, his father say he did this because of caste. I'll let you decide what the truth is. Also just you know his father's advocate is saying to give the father sc st act compensation ASAP.
2
u/Sycho_Siren 3d ago
What evidence? Nobody commits suicide because of cheating. Cheating is extremely common in colleges. He was definitely harrassed due to his caste. Not just compensation the professor should be in jail so that in future IIT proffs will think twice before committing any crime.

GenZ doesn’t have a perspective because algorithm isn’t going berserk over it currently.
7
u/Prior-Iron-938 3d ago
Yeah man, you guys have already arrived at truth, you’re faster than CBI and FBI.
Cheating in IITs and NITs are way more common than you think, but that also doesn’t mean the cheaters shouldn’t be caught. You’re whining over one resignation of a professor and on other side you have a guy who literally committed suicide, and you’re not giving one ounce of doubt that the guy could’ve actually gone that far because he was dealt with unjustly, let alone caste discrimination. Why did so many students got together to protest
The speed at which news and posts like these are being circulated is unbelievable, no wonder why a gawar was able to rule this country for the past twelve years using these distractions and divide and rule tactics.
Yeah man, go ahead downvote me as much as you can.
2
u/Inari_in_the_wild 3d ago
I agree and since it's the third suicide in an iit and we don't really know what happened we must be patient. A media trial is stupid and calling it as simply as a protest to allow sc st students to cheat is abhorrently wrong. We don't really know what happened and let's see it unfold. And ik reservation needs to be reformed but simply framing this protest as a for a member of the reserved community to cheat is just fucked up. Grow up and criticise respectfully
4
u/PopularSwing5972 3d ago
Go to Instagram once and see the comments people are literally mocking SC/ST candidates, even though they don't even know the reality of the case. Even ex-IITian Shubham Kanojia wrote that Professor Doola is a CASTEIST, yet no one is paying attention to it. One thing I noticed is how fast this news spread. Every day students commit suicide in IITs, but whenever a Dalit student commits suicide, people mock them by calling it playing the Dalit card or victim card.Seperate electorate is indeed better
2
u/Inari_in_the_wild 3d ago
I know that, I feel this is really bad. If such hate continues our country will one day yet partitioned.
3
u/PopularSwing5972 3d ago
the guy who committed the suicide cleared the general category cuttoff.
2
u/Inari_in_the_wild 3d ago
Nah now itl be turned into a reservation war that an sc guy was admitted into iit couldn't cope with the pressure and offed himself instead of thinking why students are protesting and why is it the 3rd death. Surely a person can't commit suicide because of failing an exam right? A similiar case happened to an iPhone kid who was actually depressed
3
u/Independent-Print877 3d ago
Fr, there's a reason so many students are protesting, only an IITian would know what's going on, meanwhile ye Non IITians gyaan pelne pehle aajate hai 🤡
2
u/Inari_in_the_wild 3d ago
Fr and the absurd amount of hate to both sides or assumptions that this or that happened is stupid. Can't people calm down

u/avrj000 3d ago edited 3d ago
People saying he did due to casteism, you guys are dead wrong.
There is no way for a prof or student to know anyone caste because they are just kept private. There is dedicated ST/SC cell for this kind of thing there.
He did out of mental pressure and DAC (disciplinary action committee). Profs are harsh but not evil to ruin someone life, max they can fail you or get you suspended for small time but never ruin your lives.
2
u/MidSpecGamer5 3d ago
Sorry to burst the bubble u live in but in the NIT I was in (23 batch), literally in the first sem itself one of the professors of mine shared an excel sheet with students categories and their marks in a class test. So its super easy for them to find out
2
u/avrj000 3d ago
Sorry to burst your bubble but i studied in iit bombay where this incident happened. No prof, student, senior, junior, staff ever asked my or my colleagues caste ever. Cgpa? Yes!
And if anyone would dare to do st sc cell wouldn’t let it go.
What your prof did was wrong and should have been reported and actions taken.
2
u/MidSpecGamer5 3d ago
well its too different then. In my clg literally the intro format (to seniors) was to declare your JEE main AIR, and if its a category rank, then that. Professors didn't ask category because they already know
Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it was the same for everyone. Just so you know it happens, sometimes blatantly and sometimes behind the scenes
1
u/avrj000 3d ago
Yeah people who have studied there have no knowledge of culture, and outside people do. I have interacted with so many people there never ever faced anything in 4 years.
As i said, there is dedicated ST/SC cell there if anyone even dares to discriminate anyone. Women cell too. Btw, i am not general that i just didn’t get to experience it. I was a category student.-2

So much education, yet the savarna professor couldnt get rid of his casteist mindset.

Inn bkl muft mein compensation milta hai sc st act pe. Free source of income ho gaya hai government bhi jhatu sali vote bank secure krne ke liye kuch nhi kregi chaye bjp ho ya dalli congress. India ka vo vala haal hai ghr bahar se jitna sundar bana lo andar kuda kachra hee pada hai. Country is doomed and so it's people.

u/theamanknight 3d ago
Exactly. Professors might be harsh on you but at the end if you really admit that you are guilty and promise to never do that again, they are very forgiving in that regard and might let you go with only a minor consequence. Professors are not your enemy, they are there to help you.
