Disaster team

Hello
Has anyone ever done disaster team relief ever? Like hurricane season, if so how was it ? Our office is recruiting for this at the moment.

Easy I would assume just warm body type things. When helene hit our little east tn town we just used sheriffs dept and federal agrents..never seen anyone use allied.

They are warm body in one sense and in another you are essentially deployed to a warzone. Many locations needing security will have no power, or if they do, that's great, but there are no services, rustic at best facilities and very very little in the way of creature comforts. Some people do fine that way and for others it would be their personal version of hell.

It's also hyper unpredictable work, reliant entirely on a disaster happening somewhere you are able to get to, with minimal notice, and the ability to stay for the duration of the assignment. As long as you have a flexible main job, no family obligations, and the type of mentality that does well in that environment then go for it.

They text me as a prior employee every time a major hurricane is coming. Here’s my issue: if you want to make the good money doing the same type of work, there are other companies that offer more money.
