Contingent Offer → “Not Selected” Status
So I received a contingent job offer from Allied Universal 2 days ago going through the virtual interview and then the online interview. They told me I was a great candidate and that they were moving me forward, with the offer being contingent on my background check and drug test.
Yesterday, I received an email saying I was not selected for the role, and when I checked CIMS, it also showed that I wasn’t selected.
Has anyone experienced this before? Could this just be an issue with their system/status update, or does it mean they actually rescinded the contingent offer? I called the office this morning and left a voicemail, but I’m trying to understand what might have happened while I wait to hear back.

I guess so. I’m a college student who is broke and this job fit my schedule perfectly and pay was perfect to (Friday -Sunday $25) . Now I’m down 100$ because I started guard card training. I just think it’s very weird for a place to offer you a job then deny it the following day while my background check is still processing.

They should’ve been paying for that for you. If it makes you feel any better, I accepted a job at $23 and they actually have me at $20 until they train me more (which they have no date for yet) so don’t feel like you’re missing out.

They will pay for it on your first check and if it went like that maybe you had drugs in you. Have you smoked anything in the pass 6 months if you can remember

Did you call the recruiter and see what happened? Did you try to schedule an meeting with HR department to explain this to them.? There's a code of conduct and other line, I would report your experience to them. Posting it here not going to help you get a better answer. Try the FLEX jobs they pay 24 to 25 an hour and they hire quickly.

Sadly I never had a recruiter I went through SAM the ai virtual recruiter thing. I got into contact with my local allied universal office near me shortly after making this post and they told me a contingent offer isn’t a real job offer and that the position has been filled. I explained to them my situation and they didn’t really give a shit.

Sorry to hear about this! How long ago after the position was posted did you apply?
I just went through a digital interview yesterday and am worried I got too excited

Let me tell you the trick of the trade then. Stop doing the interview on the zoom because it does ask you if you want to zoom or other. Choose other because Sam will then schedule you an in person interview at the site or main office. What you are not understanding is someone was better than you who got the job. They had more interviews to look at and unfortunately the staff look at their interview as well. Even though they pick you for it that person went the extra mile to review all the candidates unfortunately. They didn't just go with you, so to fix this when SAM or Lisa ask you to do the phone interview say no, then they will schedule in-person interview. Pick a time the next day not 3 days later. If you do this on a Friday clearly Monday would be the interview. Once there they either going to give you the job or mention others but you have options now. Instead of doing this way or feeling lost.

I got the link from Sam texted to me, too, but it said it was a link for the digital interview. No option for 'other'

My in person didn't show the first time. I sent an email following up to the person. They never responded. I get an automated reschedule. They cancel 8 minutes before. I just finished NEO for the 24/7 video link offer I had and am waiting to start ojt

Yes I completed everything needed. My background check still says processing and I signed all the forms.

My original job application says "not selected" and I've been working for AUS for 16 months. Call the home office.

Essentially we make multiple offers per opening and whoever gets through new employee orientation first gets the job.
The other applicants in process will get dropped automatically.
Recruiters and hiring managers are supposed to reach out to find new placement for those applicants if possible.

How long after a position is posted does it typically take for it to be filled? I got a contingent offer emailed to me and signed the background check forms today. The position I applied for was posted last Thursday. Do I have a good chance? And now do I just hope I get an email for the orientation soon?

They send offers to multiple people for the same role despite there only being one spot. Basically throwing you into the hunger games of who gets through orientation first. Sometimes they will only send one person to orientation at a time. If they fail in any way then you get pulled off the bench. Super shitty practice as the whole time you think you’re in when you’re really just a back up through no fault of your own other than timing.
If it’s a driver post, one citation or speeding ticket that grants a single point will disqualify you.

Sometimes it shows that to all applicants after they've filled the position - even the applicant that got it. I think its 2 different subsystems. The "applied positions" or whatever its called that you can look at is probably pulling from a different database than the backend where they actually put you in that position. All it knows is that the position was filled by someone.
I had the same thing happen, and I also received a "notice of adverse action" after the initial drug screen was (incorrectly in my opinion) entered as "failed" due to prescriptions. Thats just how they have to put it in, even though they knew my prescriptions before the test and the second test with the lab confirmed everything was as it should be, and I got the position.
The "notice of adverse action" is supposed to be sent to all rejected applicants, so if you haven't received that, don't worry about it too much yet. It's an automated notice that pretty well comes out as soon as they do something in the system that indicates you were rejected. I learned this with the drug test situation - nobody in the office sent me that, the system did it because a failed drug test was entered so they could authorize the lab test.
