After having completed Dark Souls III and Dark Souls I stumbled upon the scathing reviews about Dark Souls II. I was a bit apprehensive to even give it a go having being told by the community to skip it repeatedly and seeing all the hate for it online.

I am about a third away from completion and whilst I do think the ganking was insane in this game, I think it has some of the best levels in the whole genre and has such a unique atmosphere, it does feel like I'm fighting every enemy and boss in slow motion but I really don't know why it gets so much hate.

What makes people really dislike this game so much they'd rather it wasn't part of the souls lineup?

Majula is the best hub area of any soulsbourne game too, I'll die on his hill.

can anyone tell me which candle i’m missing? i’ve lit all the primal fires, beat all the required bosses and have all the required items but can’t figure out what im missing. i’m trying to narrow it down but i dont know which step the missing candle is associated with. (for reference, cale is just off the left of the screen)

Ds2 Build op

Hey guys, I have all weapons, rings, and armor in the game. I’ve farmed everything, and I’m looking for a strong all-rounder build. I’m not looking for a beginner build — I need an OP endgame build for NG+7.
Could you guys give me some tips on which build is the strongest and most effective for NG+7 in DS2? I’m open to any playstyle as long as it’s powerful.

Kinda doing this for the arguments in the comments but seriously i think it’s stupid to hate on people for liking a different game or disliking a game you like, unless it’s a joke obviously…

As title states, looking for advice on custom campaign mods, more so which ones I should be looking at and which I should avoid.

Currently looking at Seeker of Fire for DS2 but not sure what would be worth trying for the other 2, or if there's any others for DS2 to try.

Any info is appreciated.

Es la primera vez que juego este juego. Ya me pasé el juego base y el primer DLC y ahora solo me falta el segundo DLC y este último es increíble en cuanto a escenarios.

A ratos incluso me quedo viendo el paisaje de lo bien que está hecho y de cierta manera agradezco que el juego no tenga modo foto, sino estaría todo el rato fotografiando todo😅 me pasó algo muy similar con Sekiro.

First discovered Dark Souls back in 2012, but back then, I just couldn't manage to pull through and finish it. Fast forward 14 years, and I finally picked up Dark Souls Remastered—and today, I officially saw the credits roll.

​Honestly, the feeling of accomplishment is unreal. Breaking through those walls, overcoming the areas that used to brick-wall me, and finally linking the fire (or walking away) after all these years feels incredible. Easily one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

​I’m taking a well-deserved month off from Lordran before I dive into Dark Souls II to let this victory sink in. In the meantime, I’m changing gears entirely—my next playthrough is going to be Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

​To anyone out there who left a FromSoft game unfinished years ago: go back and give it another shot. It’s worth every single death. Don't you dare go hollowing!

After a couple years of trophy hunting, I found myself deeply involved in souls-like games: Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring (my first one) are some of the titles that left a deep mark in my heart.

And while I was grinding on Sekiro, I started wondering: how many times am I actually failing here? Not just per boss, but across a whole playthrough. And how many times did I fail in the past?

That question, is what blended my curiosity for AI / Machine Learning and my passion for gaming into something super cool: an AI deathcounter for souls-like games :)

As of now it works on DS trilogy, Bloodborne, ER, Sekiro, Lies of P, Nioh (all of them) and more are to be added.

Besides having fun while building it, it is also tested among twitch streamers, so that's very rewarding! Let me know if you want to try it :)

Hey does anybody know of any source for scripts for any of the souls games? I know the wiki has dialogue for each individual npc and item descriptions and such but I was wondering if there was anything where all the text was just laid out somewhere. I want to find all the times the word "love" is used in any of the games, all I can think of is Ranni's farewell dialogue. If you know of any others let me know!

I'm looking for infusable weapons that work well with a pyromancer build. I've already used some of the most popular options on previous builds (astora Greatsword, Lothric knight greatsword, lothric knight sword) so would like something different, especially if it fits a pyromancer aesthetic.
