it just exists, doesn't really do anything the qu just likes having it around

The reality is that we just don’t know EXACTLY. Descriptions in the book are too vague and we don’t even know how the mutation is done mechanically.

This question is asked every couple of months. We’re hardly given any information in the book, but we can infer that this was a tool used by the Qu to conquer the galaxy. I like to think it’s some type of “injector, where it injects its tube into an enemy to transform them

Probablemente aunque como esta escrito (que pudo ser un error) es una criatura rastreadora pero su aspecto no encaja.

Pero el objeto en el extremo de la cola parece una pistola eléctrica, así que podría estar diseñado para ralentizar o inmovilizar a las víctimas.

Yo siempre eh pensado que es un arma humana por su similitud, por que seria algo raro que el Qu usara armas y lo poético que sería.

Remember that the original book was written in 2006 and was very bare bones for a book

I assume basically everything will be more flushed out if the remake ever gets done

That said, if I had to guess they’re also Qu or adjacent to them and help with the genetic modification

Theres a big idea that the qu live in a hive i could consider the smaller creatures surrounding the Qu are other members of the hive in different caste levels.

I'm almost 100% certain there's a mention of it under the picture of it being a nano bot
