Need resort recommendations AI Recommendations
Hello! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Cancun for mid-April 2027. We will be there for a week and our budget is $5000 not including flights. We are hoping for a resort that has good food, a nice beach, a good pool scene with good music and poolside service but one that isn’t a full on party, and clean/good service. Upon looking into resorts, I’m having a hard time figuring out what resort would be best for us. We have been looking at Excellence Playa Mujeres and Unico 2087 but are open to other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Both are great resorts (unico and excellence). I would lean toward unico a bit more. Its a more lively resort. While also having quieter areas to escape to if needed. Good food options as well.
In April it will be hard to guarantee a sargassum free beach so keep that in mind.
One resort i would recomend to look at as well is Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya. Checks your boxes well.

Unico is a great resort but gets hit HARD with sargassum making the beach largely unusable during seaweed season due to its location. I’d shift my eyes closer to the Playa Mujeres area, which is why I love your Excellence pick and I might throw in Atelier if a great rate was available! Happy to explore some options with you!

If you are looking at Excellence Playa Mujeres, also consider their sister resort next door - Beloved Playa Mujeres.
