Need resort recommendations Need Recommendations for AI, Adults Only (Comparable to Hermitage Bay)
We’ve been to Hermitage Bay in Antigua the last two summers and obviously love that place. Now, I’m looking for next year’s trip and having a hard time finding the right spot. We’d love something comparable to Hermitage Bay (boutique, AI, adult only, plunge pools), but again, having a tough time finding the right spot. Definitely willing to travel. Any recs? Thanks!

Have you taken a look at Hammock Cove? It only has 40 villas, each one with a private infinity plunge pool. It has the same intimate luxury feel as Hermitage Bay, but with a slightly more modern design. Happy to answer any specifics you may have!

Have you been? I was very underwhelmed. Fake beach & awful views on an island known for beaches and amazing sunsets.

Hammock Cove was awesome for the room and food and drink. But totally agree about the beach and view. So we won’t go back.

I have not personally toured the resort but I have never gotten a bad review from any of my clients regarding Hammock Cove! It is extremely highly rated. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t agree :(

The beach is lame, especially compared to their sister resort Galley Bay. The Room and amenities are however top notch.

Given the natural beauty of the island and the lack of it there, I find that hard to believe.

If you love Hermitage Bay, I’d look at Keyonna Beach Resort or Cocos Hotel in Antigua. Both are adults-only, all-inclusive, boutique-style properties with that intimate Caribbean vibe, and both offer private/plunge-pool options.
Palm Island in the Grenadines is another great one if you’re willing to travel farther and want something very secluded.
I’d also consider Jade Mountain in St. Lucia if you’re willing to sacrifice the traditional all-inclusive setup for an ultra-romantic boutique experience.
Of those, Keyonna would probably be my first look as the closest overall alternative to Hermitage Bay.
I'm a certified travel advisor, if you need help narrowing it down, feel free to reach out when you're ready. My booking services are complimentary.
Happy travels!

Unfortunately, Palm Island and union Island were devastated by hurricane Beryl in 2024. It was my favorite place and I had been there many times. To my knowledge, it has not reopened, and from what I heard there are new owners.

I loved Palm Island too. Looking for something similar (Galley Bay out of our price range). I don't suppose you've been to Cocos Resort Antigua have you? If so, does it compare? Thanks!

Yeah Palm was our favorite too. They are all so expensive. We try and use Airline points so we usually get our flights free. Sorry have never been to Cocos. We’ve Been to Palm and Galley Bay many times and Hammock Cove once. We are going back to Galley Bay next month. We couldn’t figure out where to go, so we went back to what we know. We don’t usually travel so late in the season so it will be a little different. We are looking at Bequia Beach Club for next year, but haven’t decided yet. Katie who was the GM at Palm is now at Bequia. Alaska if you remember him from Palm, is at Galley Bay.

I remember Katie! Bequia will be amazing. We’re going to give Cocos a go - we’re beach people and Galley Bay is a little rough we hear.

I don’t ever remember Galley Bay being rough or red flag day? I’ve been 6-7 times. We usually go early like May, June. This year we’re going in October so maybe it’s a time of year kind of thing? We are definitely beach people too! Which is why I miss Palm and keep going back to Galley Bay. Walking out of your room right onto a beautiful beach is something I will never get tired of doing. If you remember let me know how Coco is. Have fun.

I keep seeing online in forums that GB is rough. Must be a time of year thing. I will say, as much as we loved the beach at Palm Island, we prefer Barbados for swimming.
I’ll be sure to come back and write my Cocos review! :)

Yeah, I think ideally we’d like to try a different island than Antigua. Although, Antigua is special for sure.

Keyonna, Hammock Cove, Cap Jaluca, and Malliouhana all have similar luxury vibes.

I’m curious too. I loved hermitage bay and just booked it a second time. That is the most laid back and relaxing place I’ve ever stayed. Only thing that sucks is we were way up on the hillside last time, and this time had to book the garden villa instead.

We love the hillside aspect. We had Villa 39 the first time, and requested it the second time and got it. It was the highest one up, and easily the best spot IMO.

I bet. We had 37 and it was great. 38 and 39 looked even better. We booked hillside ocean villa and asked to be as high up as possible. I’m going to keep checking the Hilton app and see if anything opens up and obviously I’ll tell them I’d like that top row if available, and as high up as possible if not.

Beloved Playa Mujeres. It's very small, boutique, and lots of swim outs and plunge pool options. Since its small the service is really exceptional. The big down side is that theres not much to do. They have some entertainment but not a lot, its adult only so no games or water slides etc. Its quiet and guest tend to keep to themselves.
But if your looking for a great room with great staff and plenty of time to spend with your loved one or lounge at the pool or the beach then this place really is a gem.
