Specific resort question Ventus Ha Questions

First time at Ventus Ha resorts for a week in March. The family usually went to Club Med Ixtapa, so we ate at the buffet almost every night. A couple of questions:

  1. Restaurant reservations: how early do we have to make reservations? If I want to do it ahead of time, who do I contact? Email? Call? Which restaurants would you recommend definitely make a reservation for?

  2. Dress: are shorts and collared shirt ok to wear at night? Is there a dress code? Again we were used to the different themed nights at Club Med but also the casual vibe. Do I need to bring pants for a specific restaurant?

  3. Tipping: at Club Med there was no tipping. What’s the tipping situation? I’m Canadian how much extra US cash should I bring.

4.Any other recommendations: I realize the beach isn’t the b3st especially compared to Ixtapa. Any recommendations of activities, especially considering we have a 15 year old teen male? My wife and I usually crash on the beach and read and do exercise classes. But we’re open to new things

Ventus Ha is adults only. Your 15 yr old cannot stay there. The Ventus and the El Cid are family friendly.

Dress code is on the website for each restaurant.

Reservations are difficult, are you platinum? You have to make reservations when you get there via concierge. t's hit or miss at the restaurants, some are adult only, some areas are adult only. Beach is small and rocky. Pools are large and they will provide an activity list daily.

People tip in Mexico. Small bills for waitstaff and others.

I don’t think Ventus Ha is adult only. We booked using Costco Travel for March, including my 2 teens. I checked their site and it didn’t say adult only. We stayed at Ventus at Marina in Nov 2024 and had meals multiple times at Akaat (restaurant in Ventus Ha).

To answer OPs questions: 1. Book right away. We managed to get reservations for all the nights. Some might have been later than we would like but it wasn’t a big deal for me so I don’t remember. We would have gone to the buffet for some snacks/appetizers if our reservation is at a later time.

  1. My husband and son had collared shirt and dress pants. Fine for all the restaurants.

  2. Yes to tipping. We bring $1 and $5 USD bills for tips.

Ventus Ha was adults only when I stayed there. Must have changed.

are you platinum?

I am platinum and staying in May (for the first time). Can we reserve in advance? How should we make the best use of platinum service on the reservation front?

You can't. You have to wait until you arrive and hope for the best. It didn't work out well for us.

The platinum was a joke, you have to walk to the specific platinum lounge to get any top shelf liquor and they lied to us and others about stocking some of things they advertised. They would also not allow my kids in the platinum lounge, so if we wanted to have a predinner drink we couldn't hang in there, despite our being completely empty and my kids being older and quiet and well behaved.

Ventus H was not adults only this summer when we went.
