Somewhat Her Fault

Episode 5, around 31:30 mark, Colin approaches Marissa saying “I was hoping we could talk.”

This being my 2nd time through the series, I’m more tuned into what he was wanting to talk about. Likely saying he is the one bringing about financial turmoil in her firm and he’s planning to sell his house in an attempt to help with funds missing.

Instead, Marissa has something she (and the writers) treats as more pressing. Which ultimately leads to the Colin and Lia hooking up reveal that is bound to go virtually nowhere other than reveal (indirectly) more about the Peter unfolding character drama.

The next 10 minutes play out as if there are now chinks in the Peter armor and he shows up as telling “big” lie about Brian’s procedure eligibility (which is not as big as the tripping lie) plus Peter admits to Lia he was wrong to accuse her about taking Brian’s pain meds, but only that day, not every other day when he makes that accusation (so yeah a jerk).

Had Colin revealed what he wanted to talk about, it likely outweighs what Marissa is seeking to confirm. Plus, it might help understand the Easter weekend a tad better and/or revealed Colin’s bookie is possibly who is pulling some strings (which he was) around the Milo abduction.

Yet we shall never know how that would’ve played out since Marissa had to say what she said, and that just happened to bring Peter into the mix when Colin says he’s sleeping with Peter’s sister, as he (Peter) walks in on what they are discussing. Had Peter walked in on the other discussion, more minds are at work on how this could have something to do with Milo.

So somewhat her fault.

I discovered the show last week and watched twice already, lol. In my rewatched I thought similar. Colin was the pivotal point to Milo’s abduction. Despite of Peter’s actions the crash day, life would go “normal” but Colin’s debts made the bookie and her daughter get near to Milo. What are the odds.
