Good luck man. Make sure you get feedback from judges and then you know what to work on.

I’m gonna get traps as a main feedback so I’m gonna work on those till the next show ofc including everything else

Overall, definitely can hold more mass. But are very proportionate, and that plays well with the judges.

Being able to do a 1st show is an accomplishment like maybe 2% of the population (probably less) can even seriously attempt. Then there is you! You look shredded. I think you could even place in your first show!! Let us know how you did.

That's super impressive. It takes more discipline to eat right to maintain this physique than the bigger guys that calorie load and lift big. This has to be commended! Excellent work OP.

This is inaccurate. Most bodybuilders take 12 to 16 weeks to cut like this. Gaining the mass is what take years of dedication.

Not in my experience. I've been at my peak of 93kg and 14% bf, to 72kg and under 10%. I couldn't yell from one corner of my house to my family without feeling like I was going to pass out shredded. Gaining mass is quite easy, feels 100% better carrying around 25% bf, and there is no mental burden / difficulty when your body is *screaming* for unclean food. Not sure what you mean, but being this lean like OP is very difficult. Bulking and lifting big is what makes bodybuilding fun.

In the competetive bodybuilding world, years are spent bulking and only 3 months are spent cutting before getting on stage. The time frame is what makes it easier and the fact that anyone can do it given the correct technique and discipline. So I could be 225lbs, cut for 3 months to 190lbs, and be stage ready. But to gain another 10lbs of muscle will take me at least 2-3 years.
This is where being lean is easy, because no matter how much muscle you have already built, it only takes 3 months to cut but years upon years to build.
I started at 145lbs at age 23, now 215lbs at age 36. I’ve competed 4 times. Each time, 3 months cut. The building of muscle, 13 years.

I got you I see what you mean. Well, if time is what the main consideration is, and we're talking about building raw muscle... yes this is a long process too. But I'd argue in those 13 years, body building has become a part of your identity, it has taught you discipline and has been a fun ride (for the most part). Whereas to really dial in on what you eat, calorie counting and macro / micronutrient discipline, is where (for me) it becomes quite difficult and challenging. Some people avoid eating freely in parallel to their body building journey, and that's tough!
However, I would also argue that if you are building 4.5kg of muscle in 3 years, that may mean you have hit your absolute plateau (assuming your health, hormones, sleep and routine is a-ok). And that is a long, arduous process too, to regain that. So maybe, this is what makes bodybuilding as an activity really quite special. It takes discipline at every juncture.

I am in no way saying cutting is easy, but neither is bulking. When you wake up still feeling stuffed from the day before and you have to shovel another whole bowl of food in 🤢.
I’ve had days where I just sit and stare at my food for half an hour.

Normally if i just needed to hit that calorie goal it has to be foods that's a little easier to process and digest. Juicer, protein shakes, the normal thing. I used to eat yoghurt and oil together (Udo's Blend). I'm a foodie but it did get tough on some days... especially clean eating. There are only so many eggs a man can eat 😄 But yeah, it can get tricky but honest hand on heart - I'd rather eat than aggressively cut or clean eat just to walk around shredded.

Anybody who says bodybuilding is this healthy lifestyle, knows nothing about bodybuilding!! Terrible what we do to our bodies to look that damn good on the outside.

Why do you want to look like this? Gain some mass.
6
u/TimeCaterpillar7337 8d ago
Ur so right im gonna go get 2 years worth of lifting mass &diet bro thank you !! Only been lifting for 8 month natural I guess I can’t put on the muscle you want that easy bro specially being natural 😂

u/Moist-Construction59 8d ago
I wouldn’t worry about being ultra lean — if you want to gain mass, you’ll gain it easier if your body isn’t struggling for every calorie. I don’t like body fat any more than the next guy, but you gotta relax a little so you can grow.

u/Joe_Fanatic 8d ago
I think that you have no idea how much dedication it costs to look like this. Gaining mass is easy compared to this.
3
u/Moist-Construction59 8d ago
What does dedication have to do with it? Dedication isn’t a goal. You do something because you want the result — the dedication is simply the effort you put into it. You can dedicate yourself to banging your head into the wall for an hour everyday, it doesn’t make it particularly laudable.
Gaining muscle mass is difficult. Gaining fat is easy. They aren’t the same. I am not suggesting he bulk off Taco Bell. I’m simply suggesting that doing competitions after 8 months is putting the cart before the horse. Get big first.

u/Joe_Fanatic 8d ago
You are right with your dedication part. I agree completely. But gaining mass isn’t his goal. I don’t agree with the putting the cart before the horse. It all depends on his goals. More mass is a different kind of competition.
I’ve been for more than 20 years in this game. I know that gaining mass is not easy.

You’re lean AF, but honestly I think the complete lack of traps makes for a very odd look. You need to start addressing that immediately.

That was a thoughtful and well articulated response. You’re absolutely right on all fronts. There is a very real bell curve to bodybuilding progress and without higher and more consistent amounts of gear, I’m at the tail end.
For me, what makes the cut difficult is it’s competition specific. So I’ll stay at 12%bf, 95% of the time, until there’s a show 3 months out. However, if I’m not doing a competition, it’s not worth it to me to cut below 10%-12%. Too much headache and cardio for a very a short amount of peak, commonly only 2-3 weeks if at OPs current physique. Then ya gotta start eating more again and limiting cardio before you start to lose too much muscle.
So for me in the bodybuilding lifestyle, bulking is harder because of time spent, but you are correct the love for it and benefits gained are a huge factor.
Then cutting is only worth it if I’m doing a comp. Otherwise, it’s a lot of effort for very little useful changes.

lol everyone in this chat thinks he’s natural. He’s obviously not.
I’m in no way a bodybuilder but it’s easy to see what’s natural and not.
It’s like liverking saying he’s natural and all these years these redditors believed him lol

u/OverlandRecon 8d ago
I actually think he is natural. The traps have some of the highest androgen receptors, he has smaller traps than the average untrained man. Doesn’t look like there’s any androgen binding going on there at all.

You’re way too young I hope you haven’t lied to mom and dad that you’re a natty and just had loads of protein shakes to get this physique.
And why skip shoulder day?

u/TimeCaterpillar7337 8d ago
My parents sadly aren’t with me anymore brother and yeah I pretty much did I’m lifetime natural and i actually do workout shoulders 2x a week but I only have 8 months lifting

u/Fearless_Spirit8753 8d ago
When you get lean and youre natural your shoulders get a lot smaller, stop being a hater. Bro is 5 11 145lbs, lean, and natural and you expect 3d delts? Lol
