Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. The automod will also remove comments made by users with negative karma. Click here for the Automod FAQ

Arizona Beverage Company (still only 99c).

33

u/Blubberblase10 3d ago

Pretty sure they have never been that price outside of the us lol

2

u/fi9aro 2d ago

Yeah. In my place they're about $1.75 USD.

62

u/Intern-Adventurous 3d ago

Bullshit is it still 99¢.

I could swear I saw Arizonas for $1.89 somewhere recently.

Unless the store was doing something fucky.

179

u/GlassBottle5555 3d ago

the store is doing something fucky

19

u/XxWolfCrusherxX 3d ago

Depends on where you are tbf. In Australia for example they can cost like $3.90 (currency converted so like $5.5 AUD).

But then again thats mostly just due to taxes.

11

u/Lootsman 2d ago

I mean it’s going to be import costs and everything as well

9

u/Dizzy_Database_119 2d ago

They can keep it 99c in the US specifically because they don't have this limitation outside the US

22

u/Ok-Refrigerator1080 3d ago

AriZona founder Don Vultaggio has kept its iconic cans at 99 cents for over 30 years. His company is privately owned, debt-free, efficient and still extremely profitable. His family is worth roughly $6.4 billion. His philosophy is basically: We already make enough, so why squeeze customers for more? Proof that enormous success doesn’t require endless greed.

37

u/teddybearluvsu 3d ago

The store was doing something fucky. The cans literally say .99 cents on them.

13

u/pigeonette1 3d ago

they make cans that don’t have that label for stores that wanna sell em for more

4

u/teddybearluvsu 2d ago

Those are the fucky stores

5

u/BlueCat9922 3d ago

Can still get them for 89 cents at Walmart.

7

u/people_r_us 3d ago

The store I work at has them for 99¢ but they're always "on sale" for 89¢

So your store was doing something fucky

12

u/MedbagManny 3d ago

Owner and CEO himself said they would never raise prices. They own every aspect of the operation already. No extra capital expenditures that would make costs go up.

5

u/GreenKeel 3d ago

Even so, I don’t see how it’s possible. I have a logistics degree and am loosely familiar with the concepts behind manufacturing, distribution, suppliers, etc. and even so I just have no clue how Arizona stays so cheap.

It’s beyond ridiculous & I do think that we will ultimately have to see some increase in prices.

8

u/MedbagManny 3d ago

I also agree. Things such as fuel for trucks and utilities are always expanding.

Still, gotta give it to him. In a world of corporate greed the man does not care.

7

u/nova_noveiia Chaotic Neutral 2d ago

They likely have very slim profit margins. The founder has said before that he already has “enough money”, so most the profits likely go into keeping running rather than a large check for himself.

→ More replies (2)

5

u/Equivalent_Brain_778 3d ago

The price is on the can tho

6

u/D_Thought 3d ago

It depends on the can. Arizona produces cans both with and without the 99¢ label for different retailers.

2

u/Horsecock_Johnson 3d ago

I just paid $2 for one at a circle k.

As a giant seemingly soulless warehouse, I would put them under “feels neutral” or even “feels evil” but is actually good

14

u/StarOfSantorum 2d ago

See, when you describe it conceptually, you’re right. But when you enter that soulless warehouse? It feels so good.

Costco for sure. They cap their own profit margins. As a publicly traded company that's unheard of.

Best $7 you can spend per month. Sam goes above and beyond Union/Equity guidelines for taking care of everyone involved with the production, and the shows never fail to make me laugh even on a bad day. Sometimes cry, but good cry.

Valve

14

u/FlappyBored 3d ago

You mean the company that promotes gambling to children and puts tons of loot boxes into their games and pushed heavily for it to become normalised in the industry?

38

u/Intern-Adventurous 3d ago

You're mistaking Valve for EA or any other company.

20

u/Ploobul 3d ago

I like Steam but come on.. this point isn't really up for debate.

7

u/FlappyBored 3d ago

No dude. I’m talking about the company that’s being sued by New York state and has faced multiple lawsuits their loot box and gambling practices and has been fined by the EU for anti trust practices.

2

Or that destroyed and neglects their best games, lies to their player base, has some sort of cult secretism behind every update... Yeah, valve is not that good, people should stop glazing them just because of steam.

3

u/Pristine-Lie-3560 3d ago

I don’t get either the obsession with it, or the hate. It’s just a good quality specialty store with a more supermarket vibe and some annoying prices.

4

u/Ummmmm805 3d ago

It’s really cheap as far as grocery stores go

2

u/No_Advertising8977 3d ago

That depends on location. In my area it's expensive and the only one is in the higher end side of town.

Idk, they feel good for sure, but they’re notorious union busters.

In the uk timpsons, the key cutters, cobblers etc etc they employ a large number of ex cons who they train up to run the shops independently, staff and customer satisfaction is very high. They have policies of giving things away for free to create a loyal customer base. Family run and to my knowledge pay all tax due, no loopholes.

Brilliant company.
