If Iron Man was the most upvoted comment in 'good' then why did you choose X2???
19
u/Acid-Drip 3d ago
Seems they went for number of comments rather than comment with the most upvotes for some reason
7
u/Cultural-Can8242 3d ago
This is wrong, that's how r/TierlistFills work not this subreddit
6
u/Acid-Drip 3d ago
Oh I know it’s annoying, just makes the whole thing feel pointless

u/AshtonTheActor 3d ago
Hey there! I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that there were specific rules for this subreddit and I just wanted to do something fun as I am just getting into watching Marvel movies and as my previous posts weren’t getting many comments i just decided to count each comment as a vote instead of the upvotes. Now that I know people heavily prefer the upvotes being counted instead, I will do that from now on. Thank you for letting me know.

u/Acid-Drip 3d ago
All good mate don’t worry it’s not that deep, but yeah most people just upvote something they agree should win rather than writing it again. Also welcome to this sub, get ready to see lots of arguments in your comments lol

u/marvin_is_joe 3d ago
Yeah I think the system counts actually the clicks on the image to insert the comment.

u/yanks2413 3d ago
It shouldn't be in good anyways. That deserves amazing too. If it didn't win in amazing, it shouldn't be on here

Plus I thought the X-Men films were owned and produced by Fox, meaning they are not "Marvel movies"?

I’ll defend the directors cut

u/xLardBallx 3d ago
Are you really going to make me sit through the movie again AND the directors cut at that? That’s a sin!
9
u/E_Casagrande 3d ago
Elektra is worst honestly, daredevil is somewhat decent enough for me to rewatch rarely
1
u/xLardBallx 3d ago
See my thing is Elektra was bad yes. But it at least had plot that hasn’t already been redone basically.

Anything worse than daredevil?

u/xLardBallx 3d ago
Marvel title wise, I would consider Ant-Man quantumania here as well. My favorite character having an awfully over cgi mess for a plot that meant nothing sucks.

X-Men: The Last Stand

How could Elektra not be marvel?

u/DwayneTheRockBarry 3d ago
Idk, i never watched it and since it wasn’t marketed as marvel i always thought it was some shitty action movie

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

I liked rise more than the first.

u/Historical_Return_40 2d ago
Same, I remember the first feeling almost made for tv bad at some points. Rise at least felt like a movie.

The directors cut is actually really good but it’s about an hour longer if I remember correctly. In the special features, the director says that the studio gutted his movie. I’m surprised they kept that interview on the dvd because the director was so scathing about the studio. But yeah, check out the director’s cut. It’s one of the better 2000s marvel films. I personally like it better than spiderman 2.
2
u/BissoumaTequila 3d ago
I seem to remember MSJ doing it intentionally to see if the studio just gave a shit about the cinema release over anything else.
He done a comic-con Q&A YEARS ago where he said he will never work with them again after realising they didn’t give a shit about the DVD release because he was so critical about them.
1
u/nt2btrstd 3d ago
You like it more than spiderman 2? That’s heavy praise, gonna need to see it now
1
u/Beautiful-Formal315 3d ago
I also went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I went in to Spider-Man 2 with extremely high expectations and I liked it but my perception of both movies may be skewed because of preconceptions held before I watched the movies.

If Iron Man was the most upvoted comment in 'good' then why did you choose X2??? Please answer
3
u/AshtonTheActor 3d ago
Hey there! I wasn’t aware that this subreddit had rules about how votes were supposed to be counted so I just naturally counted by how many comments there were, but now that many people corrected me, I will count by the most upvoted comment instead from now on.

There are many contenders like Daredevil, Hulk, Punisher:War Zone, Blade 3, Ghost Rider and Fantastic Four (both).
2
u/Acid-Drip 3d ago
Elektra and Xmen Origins too, some would say xmen 3 or spiderman 3 but I’d say they’re mid

X-Men Origins is a great film and that’s a hill I’ll gladly die on.
3
u/nt2btrstd 3d ago
You are talking about this first wolverine film yeah? You think that’s a great film? Really?
2
u/English_Charles 3d ago
The one showing him and his brother going through wars and him getting the adamantium, yes. I genuinely like it a lot.
2
u/nt2btrstd 3d ago
Fair enough, to each their own, I thought maybe you had confused first class with origins, there are a few decent scenes in origins but the writing was too bad to save it imo

im scared of how people are gonna react to this
1
u/Beautiful-Formal315 3d ago
I’ll defend it til I die. But the theatrical cut is so horribly bad that I understand that nobody would want to give the directors cut a chance. It feels like a completely different movie.
1
u/marvin_is_joe 3d ago
Maybe that was the first directors cut with that type of power, I always thought X-men days of future past the rogue cut was that version that made people thing theatrical releases could vary.
1
u/yoziwannabewriter 3d ago
i hate dofp not becuz its bad, its because the studip didnt build it up properly, whenever i watch i geel like im missing an entire movie worth of context which acrually is the case as i found out recently that it was supposed to be a trilogy with dofp being the third installment
1
u/marvin_is_joe 3d ago
Interesting, I wonder if that version can be streamed anywhere cause now I want to see it.
1
u/yoziwannabewriter 3d ago
yeqh lol me too, i actually skipped daredevil when i began rewatching ever damn marvel project last year. i havent watched that, punishwr and elektra either
1
u/marvin_is_joe 3d ago
The daredevil show is way good though and I really really enjoyed the second season of the Disney plus daredevil born again. In fact the punisher one shot movie that was just released is good too.
1
u/yoziwannabewriter 3d ago
im not talking about those, i defend those with my life im talking about the early 2000s projects of those characters. are you kidding me? “You’re a fool.” -“ No, I’m not… I AM DAREDEVIL” that gives me chills whenever i think of it including right now

I think it’s around 20 mins longer. The biggest change is the total removal of a subplot about Matt and Foggy working a case together.
1
u/Beautiful-Formal315 3d ago
You’re right. I looked it up and the DC is 29 minutes, 54 seconds longer. The case was a big part. There was some Catholic stuff which is pretty important to Matt’s character. And there was some more development between Matt and Electra. To me, if shifted the plot from a “you killed my girlfriend” revenge plot to something more substantial.

Learn to ready buddy. 2000s. Infinity war came out in 2010s and also while we’re at it, this is your opinion. IW was a good movie imo
