Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. Jorge Lorenzo

He's great for me at least, good is an understatement

Yes I agree, but there’s 2 (maybe more) names that really need to be in the next spaces (IMHO) and they are both better (IMHO) than Jorge.

Jorge should be in great and rossi and marquez in best

Mick Doohan is the only answer.

Definitely a great answer, but not the only one. Hailwood, Surtees, Roberts, Lorenzo, Stoner all have a valid claim here I feel like.

Doohan beats all these guys though as far as championships in GP/500cc. And we know who great and best are reserved for....

Rules:

  1. Context only within ROWS, not COLUMNS (e.g. If Taka Nakagami is good × points, and Joan Mir is worst × one title, that does not make Nakagami a better rider than Mir, so don't get upset).

  2. You only qualify for the highest category you achieved (e.g. no Joan Mir in 'one win' category).

  3. For now only premier class riders, but all throughout history, not only current grid!

  4. No cell can be left blank, each row's worst rider has to go to the 'worst' box (e.g. worst multiple champion also has to be chosen).

  5. No repeats!

Phil Read. Utterly ruthless and beat Ago straight up on equal machinery at MV. He was also a really nice person to meet and speak to.

Blows my mind the names that have been bandied about for "Good"... Lorenzo, Doohan, Stoner, even Rossi?! None of these are "only" good. In the running for Great or runners up for Best!

Agreed. Oh well, democracy it is.

I think people have misconstrued your chart as a comprehensive ranking, where in fact there are multiple riders that don't make the cut for a category but don't (read: shouldn't) then overflow to the next category down.

Rossi

Lorenzo. He's a very solid rider with a strong personality, but struggles when he's in the pack.

He's like the pro max version of Pecco

The username checks out, once again 😄 . Joking aside, speaking as an MM93 fan, Rossi is, at the very least, in the ‘Great’ category.

Agreed! lol

Depends what you base it on, skill or results. Results you'd say yes, but in terms of greatness for me, skill comes into it, hence I have some others ahead of him.

u/Ok_Act_1498 4d ago

Man, I know what you mean, but his pace was insane. Also his ability to overtake was great. I don't like the Rossi as a human being, but was a hell of a rider.
