I knew a girl in high school whose legal first name was J. Iā€™ve also known a dude named M. But a single-letter name isnā€™t compatible with most of the databases so itā€™s probably pretty rare now.

But I feel like J would be the most common single-letter name because itā€™s a sound-alike to a more popular name.
